Charging Point Directory

You can switch between two directories in the Settings:

1. GoingElectric

GoingElectric: 66,451 charging points in 46 countries (main focus on Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH); figure correct as at October 2017)

2. OpenChargeMap (OCM)

Open Charge Map (OCM): 107,382 charging points globally (figure correct as at October 2017)

GoingElectric is used by default as it is the best database for the DACH region as at November 2017. For certain areas or neighbouring European countries, OCM may be a better choice. To see which is best for you, try them out.

Note: As the terms charging point, charging post and charging station have not been standardised yet or there is no clear distinction between them, be wary when you see any numbers.

Some numbers may refer to the total number of connectors, while other numbers may refer to the number of chargers with connectors.

chargEV uses this terminology:

A charging point is a location or charger with a varying number of different connectors. A pin represents a charging point, and the connectors are listed under its details (e.g. 1x Schuko, 2x Type 2, 1x CCS, 1x ChaDeMo).
