Why do Favorites and Check-Ins not work?
Check iCloud settings
chargEV uses iCloud for multiple features:
- Marking a station as Favourite
- Sending of Check-Ins
- Syncing of settings and favorites across your devices which use the same iCloud account
- Transmission of photos you add to a charging station in chargEV
To ensure an error-free operation make sure that
- iCloud Drive is active
- chargEV is allowed to access your iCloud account
- chargEV is allowed to access iCloud Drive
- iCloud may use mobile data
- chargEV may use mobile data
In case the +-Icon to send a Check-In is greyed out or an error message is shown when sending a Check-In, check the above mentioned iCloud related settings. It’s always about chargEV not permitted to talk to iCloud or chargEV not being able to (e.g. as iCloud is forbidden to use mobile data).
Check the above listed points in the iOS settings:
- Open the iOS Settings app, scroll up to the top and tap on your name. In the next screen, tap on iCloud. Enable iCloud Drive and chargEV.
- Open the iCloud settings and tap on "Mobile Data". Make sure that both "chargEV" and "iCloud Drive" (scroll way down in the list) are enabled.
