If you use a certain charging point repeatedly, or are planning a trip involving multiple charging stops, add the charging points as favourites by tapping the .
Favourites offer you these benefits:
Thanks to favourites, you always have a list of your go-to charging points ready to hand, and you also receive notifications if other users report a negative check-in (such as if there’s a fault). This saves you from a wasted trip to your go-to charging point, and also lets you reroute your trip before you commence it. If a fault is marked as resolved with a positive check-in by another user, you’ll also be notified.
And as the app uses standard push notifications, you can check-in directly from the notification – even using your Apple Watch.
Check-ins let you share with other users if you charged successfully or if there was a fault.
Why do you need to do this?
If you’ve located a charging point and can see that a user has recently charged their vehicle successfully there, you can set off safe in the knowledge that the charging point will work.
If a user reports a negative check-in at a charging point that you’ve added as a Favourite, you will receive a push notification automatically – and another one as soon as a positive check-in confirms that the fault has been fixed.
Users’ check-ins can really save your day – and all it takes is a single tap to check-in. You can send a check-in directly from the push notification – including from your Apple Watch.
If the GoingElectric database is used, the charging logs are also displayed as check-ins. When you call up a charging point’s details, either the last chargEV check-in or the result of the last GoingElectric charging log is displayed, depending on which is more recent.
Unfortunately not, although as it is technically feasible to synchronise check-ins and GoingElectric charging logs bidirectionally, you may see this function in the future.
